Local insurance broker, Insurance Market, is providing free Broken Heart Insurance to cover against heartbreak this Valentine’s Day
- The Broken Heart Insurance policy will provide payouts, in the form of a pair of movie tickets, to the heartbroken on Valentine’s Day.
- Insurance Market hopes to use this campaign to showcase the ease and convenience of buying and managing insurance policies online.
Singapore – 6 February 2017 – Insurance Market Pte Ltd (“Insurance Market”), a local insurance broker that aims to make buying insurance easy for everyone, is rolling out a first-of-its-kind marketing campaign in Singapore, the Broken Heart Insurance (“BHI”), to show people in Singapore some love on Valentine’s Day. This is to acquaint people with the ease of online purchase of insurance through its “filter, compare and buy” methodology.
Starting today, Insurance Market will allow people in Singapore to sign up for its free Broken Heart Insurance policy on a dedicated microsite (http://brokenheartinsurance.sg) that will cover them against an adverse situation – being heartbroken – on February 14.
“Policyholders” who find themselves heartbroken on Valentine’s Day can make a claim by submitting their “heartbreak story” via Insurance Market’s BHI website or by logging in to their Insurance Market account. The first 150 that qualify for a “payout” will be sent a Valentine’s Day gift, a pair of movie tickets, that Insurance Market hopes will put a smile back on their faces again.
Mr. Otbert de Jong, Chief Executive Officer of Insurance Market, explains “We think our campaign has educational and fun elements that will get people to take more notice of their insurance needs and pay more attention to how they buy insurance.
“With Broken Heart Insurance, our intention is to give consumers an opportunity to experience the ease and convenience of going online and leveraging on technology for your insurance needs – from finding suitable insurance policies to buying in an extremely transparent manner to checking and managing them to making changes or claims.
He further elaborates that while insurance will never fully replace an individual’s losses, it is necessary, to a certain extent, to provide some coverage to limit the risk people are facing in meeting their responsibilities.
Mr. Otbert de Jong said, “Importantly, we want to drive the point that buying online is the most effective way to get your insurance. This is similar to how most people make their hotel and flight bookings today compared to 10 to 15 years ago – all done conveniently online and with adequate information to compare price and quality. By doing this, we eliminate hard-selling tactics and commission-driven sales agenda simply because we do not have insurance agents selling our products.
“Further, we are not merely an aggregator or a comparison website referring business away. As a MAS-licensed broker, we focus on building relationships with our customers.”
Offering a wide variety of insurance policies from majority of the insurance companies in the industry, Insurance Market’s allows consumers to find the most suitable policies by filtering policies on its online portal based on an individual’s unique requirements. It then uses its algorithm-based rating model to compare similar policies taking into account the price, quality and personalised requirements of an individual. Finally, policyholders can also purchase and manage their policies on their own dashboards within its portal.
