About Liberty Insurance PetCare
PetCare is a line of insurance policies is offered by Liberty Insurance, designed with the needs of pet owners and their pets in mind. It provides coverage of up to 70% of veterinary bills arising from illness or accidents that occur. It also offers the flexibility of visiting any licensed veterinary clinic within Singapore.
The plans covers your pet in cases of accidental death, vet expenses arising from accidental injury, as well as pet theft for dogs. There is a $50 deductible for each accidental injury incident.
For illness, vet expenses is covered for both surgical and non-surgical treatments, with a 50% co-payment for non-surgical expenses, and a 30% cost borne by the insured for surgical claims.
PetCare also covers third party liability costs from damages caused by your pet.
With all PetCare plans, you enjoy no claim discounts of 5% on premiums in the first year, 10% in the second consecutive year and 15% for three consecutive years and beyond.
To qualify for coverage, there are certain critera that your pet needs to fulfil. These include: being microchipped, residing with you in the same premises, must not be a working dog, be at least 8 weeks but not more than 9 years old. The dog or cat must also not be used for breeding purposes.
Take note of the exclusions stated in the policy terms. Some of these include no coverage for pre-existing, hereditary and/or congenital conditions, routine care, theft arising from acts of negligence and elective treatments etc.
Liberty Insurance PetCare Standard, Enhanced & Superior Plan
Liberty Insurance’s PetCare comes in three tiers, depending on your coverage needs. The only difference between the plans are the benefit payout limits and premiums.
The Standard plan starts at $350 a year (including GST), while the Enhanced and Superior plans cost $450 and $750 respectively.
